MFA Investigation: Tyson workers torture and mutilate pigs before turning into bacon

This video is appalling. If you have any sense of morals or feelings at all, you will feel sick after watching it. Like so sick you could puke up that bacon you ate this morning. But it's important to watch and learn.

If I were to put my cat through half the pain that these Tyson workers put all of these pigs through, I'd be arrested faster than you can say ham sandwich. Why the hell should one of the biggest corporations on the planet be allowed to do it on a massive scale?

Not that I want to put my cat through any pain, or have anyone be allowed to. These men should be arrested, and all the upper management should receive even higher punishments. But honestly, if I had to choose between some twisted homeowners beating up their dog, and massive corporations being allowed to do these sick and horrifying things to thousands of animals everyday, I'd choose the option that saves the most animals. Not even from life, but so much pain at the very least.

But they manage to get away with it, every day. But it's OK, because following this investigation, Tyson has done a "turnaround."
They've strongly resolved to... recommend? that the slaughterhouses that allow these practices stop, and any NEW crates (that's right, they're called gestation "crates") they make to allow more breathing room for the pigs. The current crates don't even allow some of the pigs to lie down, at all, period. But the NEW ones will better, whenever, IF ever, they build new ones.

They're really making strides when they say the're going to.....encourage? that slaughterhouses stop ripping the tails off of piglets without the use of pain management. Whoa, watch out guys, we're getting encouraged to make more work for ourselves, when we've already got a cheaper and easier way that seems to do the trick just fine.

Oh but that's not all, they will require a more effective and humane method of euthanization compared to the current one, which is the age old practice of slamming pigs headfirst into the concrete. By the end of 2014. Again, if myself or any other American in their own home were to pull on a dogs tail too hard, the ASPCA will be there like bacon on a BLT. Today, tomorrow, hopefully for years to come. But it's OK if Tyson takes it's sweet time, I mean it will probably cost money right? They can't afford to make any sudden changes, so the pigs can suffer for another year. Or maybe it's OK if it's a pig, or maybe if it's a multi-billion dollar corporation that can pay the right people off, or maybe because everyone loves to eat bacon and loves dogs as pets? Whose to say.

You can read all about their "putting their foot down attitude, except it's a dainty foot that doesn't want to get mud on it so we're not really putting our foot down" here, at MFA's blog. It also talks about mega-corporations that have managed to ban these gestation crates, so why the hell should the largest meat producer be able to get away with it?

That's right folks, according to Wikipedia, Tyson is the largest meat producer in the WORLD. So when you think about, we should be proud of how many chickens, pigs and cows they slaughter on a daily basis. We should be proud of how they run their business as Americans, because we helped make it so. This is the epitome of eating meat, not just in America, but in the entire world. When we think of Tyson, we should view it like the freakin' pyramids, because it's a legacy in this country. So why the FUCK is it actually an abomination of modern industrialization, forgoing laws that affect all American citizens, and condoning human behavior that's characteristic of serial killers? When there are other readily available options out there, there is no reason that the government should allow this to continue.

We have Mercy For Animals to thank for this investigation. If this makes you sick, confused, or so angry you want to go to your local Walmart and tear open every box and bag belonging to Tyson, I strongly encourage you to do so. Just make sure to donate some money to MFA before you go to jail. It'll be worth it.
